Whether it’s running his own label, producing music or DJing, you can feel that Nuno is utterly in love with what he does. This love translates into an almost obsessive curiosity for fresh music. As a DJ, Nuno’s style is full of energy and hypnotic, often drawing inspiration from percussive rhythms, grooves, and the wide spectrum of house music.
Born in Lisbon, he grew up in the Netherlands, based long-term in Utrecht, he’s best known in the Dutch scene for his DJ residencies at the late, much-loved club Trouw (and its predecessor, Club 11), and for his label Something Happening Somewhere (SoHaSo), which he started in 2013. The label has a strong independent musical voice, with a strong hallmark on quality control, and releases only a few carefully handpicked records each year.
Lately, Nuno has been spending countless hours in the studio, channeling his creativity into a series of new projects. With several EPs on the way, and a new residency at Utrecht’s beloved club NAR, this next chapter highlights his continued focus on crafting fresh, dance floor–ready sounds.
